Lehman Walsh Lawyers is a specialist Startup and General Corporate Law practice.
We act as your company’s virtual legal counsel, with the added flexibility of letting you decide how often you require our input and assistance, without having to commit to a long-term and expensive retainer. We will be there to offer legal assistance throughout your company’s lifecycle. Whether you’re just starting up and need a few contracts reviewed or you’re negotiating an exit strategy requiring expert advice, we’ll be with you every step of the way.
We focus on serving the needs of entrepreneurial businesses and those who invest in them. We meet their needs at every stage of the business – from start-up to exit, and we support our clients through prosperous times and when times gets tough.
We do not believe in a one-size-fits- all approach to legal services. Our clients’ strategic and business objectives guide the way we provide our services – examples include spending a period of time with our clients at their premises and assisting on a full-time basis, attending important meetings with the management team to offer immediate legal advice or the provision of training for staff members.
Our flexible compensation structures allow a degree of flexibility that the traditional law firms cannot compete with. We offer fixed fee services, where possible, so our clients know exactly how much to budget for legal expenses. In tackling more complex legal matters, such as litigation, we work closely with our clients to monitor the potential expenses and can provide ‘event costed’ estimates, where we charge for specific stages of the litigation (eg: preparing pleadings, evidence, engaging Counsel and final hearing). We will do all that we can to make sure that our clients succeed and work towards the longevity of our relationship with our clients.
To the extent, we do not have the specialised skills you may require we will find a suitable provider of those legal services in our network and can manage this engagement on your behalf.
White Collar crimes is a broad term which includes offences such as bribery including foreign bribery, cheating of consumer by directors, fraudulent misappropriation and obtaining benefit, credit or money by deception, certain misleading statements, insider trading, embezzlement, taxation offences, money laundering and other dishonesty related offences. The ever widening powers of enforcement agencies such as ASIC, the ACCC and the ATO means that the chances of prosecution are growing. Prevention and minimising risk and exposure is the key to a successful enterprise and that’s where Lehman Walsh can assist, by putting together relevant training programs for you and your staff. But if you do fall foul of the law, we can also assist you in reducing the damage to your reputation and that of the business, through our expert team of lawyers as well as access to external specialists.
When it comes to resolving disputes, we understand that your reputation, as well as your time and money, are major concerns. Our litigation and dispute resolution team will help you find the quickest and cost-effective solution.
Litigation should always be a last resort and our team has experience in a wide range of alternative dispute resolution options, including mediation and arbitration to assist you in resolving your legal issue the most effective manner.
If litigation is unavoidable, our litigation lawyers have experience in all jurisdictions, including Federal, Supreme, District and Local courts, the Land and Environment Court and also specialist Tribunals. We work closely with our clients to monitor the potential expenses and can provide ‘event costed’ estimates, where we charge for specific stages of the litigation. We always keep your commercial objectives in mind and are sensitive to costs involved.
